Listed Museum of Communication at Leipziger Strasse in Berlin-Mitte is one of the sites of Museum Foundation for Posts and Telecommunications. Established as Reichspostmuseum, one of the first museums for history of technology, by Postmaster General of German Reich Heinrich von Stephan in 1872, the building got badly damaged in World War II. The planned instauration as DDR Postmuseum was carried out just partially. Only after the fall of the Wall the house was restored and finally reopened as Museum of Communication in 2000
