Putbus is a town of the district of Pomerania-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Putbus is the youngest city of Rügen and the oldest seaside resort on the island. It was founded in 1810 by William I, Prince Malte of Putbus. From the white-painted houses is derived the name White City. Since 1997, the city is officially a health resort
