Lake Laacher See in the borough of Glees in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The lake originated from a volcano caldera. It is the largest lake of the state. It belongs to the near abbey of the Benedictians Maria Laach and is a nature preserve area. It is used as a recreational area and one of the attractions of the volcano park of the volcanic Eifel region
