The old parish church of St. Cyriac in Niedermendig is a Romanesque church from the 12th Century. In the middle of the 19th Century, was built onto the old church a new church to St.. Cyriac and St. Barbara was ordained. When renovating the old church from 1886 to 1888 medieval wall paintings were discovered, which are exposed from 1897 again
