The Schoeneberg district of Berlin in the state of Berlin is characterized by densely populated residential areas with apartment buildings that were built around the end of the 19th century. Towards the city center are increasingly new buildings. The Pallaseum - Social Palace, an erected by the architect Juergen Sawade plate spanning the Pallas Street. Behind this is the red brick executed the Catholic St. Matthias Church at Winterfeldtplatz.
