The Brocken is the highest mountain in northern Germany and the low mountain range Harz. It rises near Wernigerode in the Harz in Saxony-Anhalt. The mountain and its surroundings are part of the Harz National Park. From the fragments, one of Germany's most popular attractions, you can look in good visibility conditions, to the Big Island mountain in Thuringia, in the Köterberg Weserbergland and Peter Berg north of Halle an der Saale. Top of the mountain runs a narrow-track chunks
