Schloss Sanssouci diente als Sommerresidenz für Friedrich den Großen. Es wurde von 1745 bis 1747 von Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff nach Vorstellungen und Skizzen des Königs auf dem terrassierten Weinberg errichtet.
