Den Gipfel der Säule schmückt eine in Erinnerung an den siegreichen Deutsch-Französischer Krieg aufgesetzte goldene Statue der Siegesgöttin Victoria mit Lorbeerkranz, die acht Meter hoch und circa 35 Tonnen schwer ist. Von den Berlinern wird sie liebevoll die "Goldelse" genannt. Im Hintergrund der Neubau des Bundespräsidialamtes und das Schloß Bellevue.
