Die Augustusbrücke führt zur Dresdner Altstadt mit ihren historischen Bauten. Zu sehen sind unter Anderem die Hofkirche und die Semperoper am Theaterplatz, das Residenzschloss, die Kunstakademie, sowie die Frauenkirche. Das historische Zentrum bildet der Altmarkt (Wilsdruffer Straße).
