Blick auf das Kraftwerk Vogelsang (Wernerwerk) im Eisenhüttenstädter Ortsteil Fürstenberg. Der Bau wurde 1943 von der Märkischen Elektrizitätswerk AG (MEW) begonnen. Kurz vor der Inbetriebnahme wurde das Kraftwerk im Februar 1945 von der Sowjetarmee besetzt und war bis April 1945 Schauplatz verlustreicher Kämpfe. Nach Kriegsende wurden die technischen Anlagen von der Besatzungsmacht demontiert und nur das Gerüst aus Stahlbeton blieb erhalten. Shortly before putting into operation the plant was occupied by the Soviet army in February 1945 and was the scene of lossy fighting till April 1945. After the war, the technical facilities were dismantled by the occupying power and only the skeleton of reinforced concrete remained.
