Blick auf die Baustelle des Projekts M.O.S.E. bei Punta Sabbioni in Venedig. Die Abkürzung M.O.S.E. steht für modulo sperimentale eletromeccanico und bezeichnet ein bewegliches Flutschutzwehr. Das Sperrwerk soll besonders die historische Altstadt Venedigs vor Überflutungen schützen. Die Bauarbeiten begannen 2003. Umgesetzt wird das Projekt von der Firmengemeinschaft Consorzio Venezia Nuova, einem Zusammenschluss der 30 größten Baufirmen Italiens.
