Blick auf den Bau einer Biogasanlage. Zukünftig sollen aus ca. 11.000 Tonnen Mais, Getreide, Grassilage und Rindergülle pro Jahr 2,5 Millionen Kubikmeter Biogas erzeugt werden. Dieses wird in einem neu zu errichtenden Blockheizkraftwerk (BHKW) im Heizhaus Stadtwerke Demmin in der Saarstraße verstromt. Das Umweltministerium fördert die Errichtung und den Betrieb des BHKW sowie die Fernwärmetrasse mit insgesamt 308.000 Euro.
