Neben gelegentlichen Events wie Konzerten und Messen ist das Gelände weitestgehend dem stillen Verfall preisgegeben. Noch sind alle luftverkehrsmäßigen Leit- und Befeuerungsanlagen intakt, aber lokalpolitische Erwägungen zwangen zur Stillegung dieses geschichtsträchtigen Flughafen.
