Anfang des 12. Jh. wurde die St. Nikolaikirche in Geithain mit ihren 42 m hohen Türmen im romanischen Baustil erbaut. An der Westseite zwischen den beiden Türmen befindet sich das schöne romanische Pfingsttor aus Porphyrtuff.
